If the payoff for a Do not Pass Odds bet is the same as the amount of the Flat wager, then the Odds wager is bridged. The part of your Odds bet that’s equal to the Flat wager is positioned right beside to the Flat wager. Then, the remainder of the Odds bet is put on top "bridging" them. e.g., suppose you place a 5 dollar Don’t Pass bet and the hurler tosses a point of eight. Knowing the true odds for the 8 are six:five (i.e., 6 ways to roll a seven, and five ways to make an 8), you then put six dollars in Odds with the hope of acquiring 5 dollars. In this instance, if you actually win the six dollars Odds bet, you win 5 dollars, which clearly equals the amt. you earn with your $5 Flat wager. Therefore, since your Flat wager and Odds wager earn the same amt. (5 dollars each), you bridge your six dollars Odds bet by placing a $5 chip literally beside to your 5 dollar Flat bet, and then placing the one dollar chip so it bridges the 2 five dollar chips.
If the payoff for a Don’t Pass Odds wager does not equal the amount of the Flat bet, then the Odds wager is heeled. This means you place the bottom chip of your Odds bet chip stack directly beside to your Flat bet. Then, position all remaining Odds bet chips over and above that first chip but offset and leaning on that first chip (your Odds bet chip stack is tilted because it’s leaning on the bottom chip).
Confused? That is alright, do not get nervous. The dealer is always ready to help if you forget. After a few times, it all makes sense. It won’t take long before you’re an expert. If you are not certain what to do the first instance you try it, basically tell the croupier, "I would like to lay some Odds but I do not comprehend if it needs to be bridged or heeled." The dealer asks, "How much do you wish to put?" Let’s say you indicate, "Fifteen dollars to win ten." The croupier asks you to place your chips on the table (dealers are not allowed to collect anything, notably chips, directly from a patron), and then the croupier properly heels or bridges them based on the amount of your Flat bet. You will quickly get the hang of it. Just do not be afraid to ask the croupier inquiries. His or Her job is just to deal, but also to be friendly and assist the players.
